After a decade of extensive touring across the United States, Canada, and Europe — both as part of her former band, The Dove & the Wolf, and as a session musician (The War On Drugs, Faye Webster, Natalie Prass) — Louise Hayat has left Nashville, TN and returned to her roots in Paris to embark on her first solo venture as Maví Lou.

Her debut single « Let It Slide » served as a powerful introduction to her first EP Grapefruit Meditation, released on June 14th 2024. The record transcends the boundaries of a traditional song collection, offering an unfiltered glimpse into feeling out-of-body while observing the repetitive, numbing routine of people merely going through the motions. Its soft yet intricate arrangements beautifully convey the music’s introspective nature, inviting listeners to dive into the captivating world that Maví Lou creates. With heartfelt lyrics, she explores themes of isolation, self-assurance, and the search for belonging.

Since the release of Grapefruit Meditation, Maví Lou has continued to bring her dreamlike universe to the stage — from intimate solo performances featuring her classical guitar, to playing as a trio or with string quartet.

In July 2025, she shared a uniquely intimate acoustic concert in Paris with Ukrainian classical guitarist Maryna Vosmirova — a dialogue between her songs and the classical guitar repertoire. Later that year, she went on a solo UK tour with Erin Rae, performing stripped-down versions of her songs on classical guitar, in a series of warm, minimalist sets that emphasized the intimacy and emotional depth of her writing.

Each live performance is a singular experience, suspended in time, where her songs are rearranged and reinterpreted with new textures, counterpoints, and emotional nuances.
